Kids Kidney Research

Who we are

Kids Kidney Research (previously know as the Kidney Research Aid Fund, KRAF) was set up by a group of people who had friends and family with kidney disorders.  Although they were all adults with kidney disease, they decided to support paediatric kidney research since many would not have been in the position they were in had their conditions been treated in childhood.

30 years on we are still all volunteers and on average over 97% of all funds received annually go directly to the cause.  We are one of the leading paediatric charities supporting kidney and urological research helping to find cures and improve remedial care.

In these days of bad press about 'charity muggers' and overheads eating into charitable funds, we do make good use of donations.  In fact, during 2005/6 our overheads were less than 1%.  We do feel proud of this and believe it is a better way forward for many charities.  People then know to whom they are giving: not salaries or overheads but to the cause that is close to their hearts.
