World Kidney Day 2009 | |
World Kidney Day will be celebrated on 12 March 2009. This global health awareness campaign focuses on the importance of our kidneys and reducing the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide. The campaign is celebrated every year on the second Thursday of March in more than 100 countries on 6 continents.
The theme for World Kidney Day 2009 is "Keep the Pressure Down" highlighting the importance of high blood pressure as one of the key symptoms and causes of chronic kidney disease.
