Kids Kidney Research

Congratulations to Liz Wright, who has completed her first half marathon at Paddock Wood in Kent!  In the process, Liz raised GBP750 for Kids Kidney Research.

Liz has been running for about 8 years and decided that the time had come to run her first half marathon.  She chose to raise money for Kids Kidney Research after a friend's daughter, Chelsea Mellish, was diagnosed with a kidney disorder last year, which resulted in her having a kidney transplant.  Chelsea was lucky, as her mum, Lisa, was able to donate her kidney.  

Liz said " I knew that if I ran for charity, it would keep me motivated and I would not pull out.  I have two small children of my own and you just do not appreciate how lucky you are when they are fit and healthy."  Liz completed her half marathon in a very respectable 2 hours and 15 minutes.
