The Angmering Park Estate organises Quiz Night for Kids Kidney Research | |
The Angmering Park Estate and Victoria Castleman, whose son Tom was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome in July 2008, have raised over £1,000 for Kids Kidney Research. Victoria told us " It has been a really tough year as Tom has relapsed five times since he first became poorly. He is steroid dependant and we have not yet been able to wean him off the steroids, he also started Levamisole but unfortunately has relapsed whilst taking this. Tom copes remarkably well; he always has a smile on his face and never complains about taking all the medication." She continued "We are so proud of our wonderful little boy and would do anything to be able to have our healthy little boy back again. All our friends and family have been wonderfully supportive and we are so grateful to them." Victoria works for The Angmering Park Estate who have been particularly supportive and they kindly decided to have a quiz night to raise some money for Kids Kidney Research. They did an absolutely fantastic job in raising £860.10. This was a real team effort, with some people making lasagnes, brownies and salads, whilst others sold tickets, provided equipment and set the questions! Thanks go to Rachel, Sandra, Steff, Jane, Anne, David, Jules, Keith, George and Phillipa. The venue, the Norfolk Centre, was donated free of charge by Lady Sarah and her sisters. A raffle was held, with prizes donated by Arundel Castle, Lady Sarah, Indiagate restaurant, Black Rabbit, Arundel putting green, Peter Youatt and Santa Rita. In addition the Norfolk Family Charitable Trust donated £200 and Victoria's Auntie Pauline and Uncle Brian kindly donated £20, bringing the grand fundraising total to £1,080.10. Kids Kidney Research are very grateful to Victoria, The Angmering Park Estate, the Norfolk Family Charitable Trust and all those involved with the Quiz Night. |
